Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a safe, minimally invasive procedure used to reduce fat and cullulite in the body. Mesotherapy can shrink belly fat, double chins, saddlebags, and bra buldge. For some, it is a reasonable alternative to surgery to shrink fat underneath the eyes.

As a cellulite treatment, mesotherapy has no peers. Cottage cheese and dimpling fade away. It involves injecting microscopic quantities of a variety of pharmaceutical agents, natural plant extracts and/or homeopathic agents and vitamins into the skin.

At ACE Alternative Health and Nutrition Center, we select a custom formula to treat your condition. Mesotherapy may be effectively used to treat cellulite, weight loss, body sculpting, and skin rejuvenation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mesotherapy a new treatment?
You will be surprised to learn that mesotherapy is not a new procedure. It has actually been performed in Europe for over 50 years. It was developed by the French physician Michel Pistor, M.D. to treat a variety of health ailments.

Over the course of time, his colleagues in both Europe and South America discovered that mesotherapy was amazingly effective in handling cosmetic problems formally confined to the field of plastic and cosmetic surgery.

After my first few treatments, I was astounded that I could SEE a difference! Not only could I tell, but my husband also commented on how great my legs looked. I wish I had discovered Mesotherapy sooner! Thank you! - Pam

How does Mesotherapy work to reduce cellulite?
Mesotherapy reduces excess fat deposits. It also helps improve lymphatic drainage, blood oflow in the circulatory system, and disrupt fibrotic bands of connective tissue (which inevitably convey the appearance of classic dimpling of cellulite).

How many treatments are required before I see results?
All patients are different, and require special evaluations and it depends on the patient's body. Some patients see results after one treatment session while others may require four to five treatments to begin to see results. Typically, the patient's clothing will become looser and friends and family will tell the patient they appear thinner.

What are the side effects?
Side effects are generally limited to bruising which fade within one week. There may also be mild itching of the treated area.

May one go back to work after Mesotherapy treatment?
Yes. The procedure generally takes 30 minutes and requires minimal preparation and recovery time.

Are the treatments painful?
The majority of patients experience minimal discomfort with Mesotherapy due to the use of numbing creams and any pain meds that may be needed. For those with lower pain thresholds, the doctor can administer painkillers.

How long do the benefits of Mesotherapy last?
Treatment areas will remain fat free as long as the patient maintains healthy living habits. The usual tenets of moderation in diet and a prudent mixture of aerobic and anaerobic exercise are exceedinly helpful. Treatments for cellulite may require maintenance on a six-month basis.

Is Mesotherapy different from liposuction?
Besides involving no anesthesia or surgical risk, Mesotherapy requires no recovery time. Mesotherapy also destroys the fat cell there by reducing fat. This helps give Mesotherapy its natural appearance. Also, if you gain weight after having Mesotherapy, the fat will simply return to the treated area, unlike liposuction, where fat will deposit in places that had been thin in the past, such as the arms, neck, face, and calves giving fat distribution an awkward unbalance appearance.

How does Mesotherapy work on weight loss and spot reduction?
Mesotherapy can identify specific targets or spots where the body stores excessive adipose and fat. Mesotherapy formulas are injected in the skin (mesoderm) and kill or "lyses" the cells and helps shrink the problem fat areas. Your body then flushes out the broken-down fat. Mesotherapy reduction can be used for double chins, love handles, saddlebags, and any other area where your body pockets fat.

Who is a candidate for Mesotherapy?
Healthy males and females with unwanted fat stores. Pregnant women, those with insulin dependent diabetes, severe heart disease, history of stroke or heart attack, recent cancer, or those who are taking blood-thinning medications, may not be candidates for Mesotherapy.
