What bio-identical hormone replacement therapy do for you?
When you are under stress or perform exercise, your body needs higher levels of estrogen or testosterone to function optimally. To put it simply, your body has a built-in regulation system that calls for just the right amount of hormone to be released. When your ovaries (in women) and testicles (in men) were functioning properly, it was their job to produce these hormones and release them in correct amounts in the blood stream.
In menopause and and andropause, the ovaries and testicles slow down their production of estrogen and testosterone until they reach a point where they are unable to keep up with the demands of the body.
What is Menopause? It's a transition that can start in your 30's or 40's and last into your 50's or even 60's. You may begin to experience signs and symptoms of menopause well before your periods stop permanently. Once you haven't had a period for 12 consecutive months, you've reached menopause. Menopause is a natural biological process, not a medical illness. Although it's associated with hormonal, physical and psychosocial changes in your life, menopause isn't the end of your youth or your sexuality.
What is Andropause? It is a medical phenomenon, similar to the female menopause that can affect men between the ages of 40 and 55. Unlike women, men do not have a clear-cut signpost such as the cessation of menstruation to mark this transition. Both, however, are distinguished by a drop in hormone levels - estrogen in women, testosterone in men. The bodily changes occur very gradually in men and may be accompanied by changes in attitudes and moods, fatigue, a loss of energy, sex drive and physical agility.
What are bio-identical hormones?
These hormones are derived from a natural plant source of soy and natural plant-based ingredients. They are hand-compounded to be biologically identical to the human forms of estradiol and testosterone. These pellets possess the exact hormonal structure of human hormones. Essentially, the body is given back what it can no longer produce.

Prior to beginning the hormone supplementation program, I suffered from moderate depression. My energy level was very low and I was overweight. Now, however, I feel wonderful. I have lost weight and my energy has increased dramatically. I am grateful for your help. - M.L., age 45

How are bio-identical hormones made?
Bio-identical hormones are derived from a natural plant source. They are formulated by a compounding pharmacist to be biologically identical to the human forms of estradiol and testosterone, two hormones that help regulate many different bodily functions. The pellets have the exact hormonal structure as those made by humans. In essence, the body is given back what it no longer has the ability to produce. Natural hormone pellet therapy has been documented and researched in Europe and the United States since 1939.
